“Mommy… the shadows are breathing…”

A little girl’s nightmare is the first sign something is wrong with our reality, and that our children are in danger.

As one family fights to save their daughter, an insidious, unrelenting force bleeds into our world, corrupting everything it touches and erasing anything that resists.

‘The Shadows Are Breathing’ is a science-fiction horror story that will have you checking the dark corners of your room and wondering if something is already there with you.

Coming soon.

Working Cover for ‘The Shadows are Bleeding,’ by Jarryd Solloway.

What Beta Readers are saying…

“I don’t read horror stories, but I gave this one a go because it had a dog in it, and it sucked me in. The science fiction bits were really interesting. The horror was more like an action movie and I liked that it wasn’t all blood and yuck. It was creeping unease. My favourite part was the relationship between the two main characters. It’s a love story trapped in a nightmare. I’m glad the love between the two heroes was so strong and so beautifully written because I might not have made it to the end.”

Heather

“This book. I could see the big twist coming, but when it finally worked itself out on the page, I realised I’d been holding my breath. The bad guy, she’s a piece of work. Loved her. She reminded me of old school villains like Alexis from ‘Dynasty’ and JR from ‘Dallas,’ but the mustache twirling was a lot more sinister and the stakes are a lot higher. The little girl could have just been a side note, but she’s not and that’s what sold me. She didn’t sit by, she had agency and I loved that. And the dog.”

Jim

“I don’t like books where kids are in danger, but Jarryd asked so nicely I had a look. I’m not a fan of horror and I won’t watch it or read it, which means I was apprehensive. This book scared the pants off me. The first few pages had me sweating. What kept me reading was I cared about this family. Plus, the little girl is adorable and I had to see if she survived. I won’t spoil anything, but I will say I doubt I’ll ever forgive Jarryd for ending this story the way he ended it. Cruel. So cruel. But, it’s a great read!”
